Not the version of you that knows a camera is pointed your way. The laugh that catches you off guard. The way you look at someone you love when you think no one is watching. The little moments that weren’t part of the plan, but somehow end up meaning the most. I’m drawn to the in-between moments. The quiet ones, the unexpected ones, the ones that happen when you simply settle into being present with the people you love. That’s what I’m looking for when I pick up my camera. Because sometimes the photograph you end up loving most is the one you never knew was being taken. A LITTLE ABOUT ME I’m based in Grand Rapids, MI but I’m always happy to follow a good story somewhere new. Outside of photography, you’ll usually find me miles deep into a bike ride, or spending time with my family on the patio. I’m drawn to beautiful light, thoughtful music, and a good conversation. I think that’s part of why I love this work so much. Every person I photograph gives me a chance to see something differently. Every wedding, session, or story becomes a small reminder that the ordinary parts of our lives are often the things we’ll cherish the most. WHAT I WANT FOR YOU I don’t want you to leave with photographs that simply prove you were there. I want you to have photographs that bring you back. Back to how it felt. Back to who you were. Back to the people you shared it with. The kind of photographs you find yourself looking at years from now and suddenly remember something you had completely forgotten—the way the room felt, what someone said, how hard you laughed, or how it felt to have everyone you loved in one place.
